Sangobion presents Giselle Sanchez as Salaminkera!

Mirror, mirror on the wall... who is the fairest of them all? Sounds familiar? Whenever we look into a mirror, it's almost always to check and see if we look okay. Sangobion takes up the familiar habit of looking in a mirror a notch by turning it into a one-woman show entitled Salaminkera starring Giselle Sanchez.

Giselle plays the title character Salaminkera, an all-knowing talking mirror, much like the looking glass in the fairy tale Snow White. The difference is, Salaminkera is sarcastic, brutally frank, and way more vocal than that fairy tale looking glass.

Salaminkera is quick to point out flaws while offering comical advice at the same time.

Before the main event, an introductory dance number is shown.

It's revealed that an imposter was dancing in place of Salaminkera. This is where the comedy starts. :)

Salaminkera is a creative and artistic effort by Sangobion to promote iron deficiency awareness among women.

Giselle Sanchez, a vibrant performer, loving wife, and a doting mother with an established career was chosen because she perfectly embodies the Sangobion woman.

Throughout the performance, women would come up on stage to ask for Salaminkera's advice on various aspects of their lives from concerns about their physical appearance to how their personal relationships and careers are going. The title Salaminkera was derived from the Filipino words "Salamin" (which means mirror) and "Salamangkera" (which means wizard or magician). I think my favorite line in the show is "Remember, I'm not here to criticize...".

In the end, it's revealed that iron deficiency is one of the causes of common problems like lack of focus and overwhelming feelings of fatigue.

"These days, women play multiple roles. These overlapping tasks can take its toll on your health, making you haggard and tired, especially if you're breastfeeding. Women need balance juggling all of these acts. Drained energy will leave women empty and tired. Luckily, iron supplement Sangobion is there to help us," shares Giselle after the show.

Salaminkera will have a run at the Lower Ground Floor of SM Megamall Building A this June 9, 2013 (Sunday). I really recommend that you catch it as it's really funny and entertaining. It had us in stitches when we watched the media preview last May 30. Aside from the performance, Sangobion will also be setting up booths and activities with lots of freebies to be given away to audiences and mallgoers. The show is FREE. :D

Sangobion Believers
I feel very honored to have been asked to share my experience as a Sangobion Believer with these exceptional women (from left to right: Frances Amper Sales, Cheska Garcia-Kramer, Jenni Epperson, myself, Christine Dychiao, and Jackie Go). I first tried Sangobion last year when I was asked to take part in the Sangobion Mommy Blogger Awards. I know how important iron is because my mom used to take it all the time when I was a little girl because she had low blood pressure. I will be sharing my personal experience with Sangobion in an upcoming post.

The older I get, the more pressing the need is for me to take care of my health. I want to be around a long time so I can see my kids grow up into the responsible adults that I am trying to raise them to be.
