When my family and I stayed overnight at
Maxims Hotel last summer, we decided to have lunch at Passion Restaurant the next day. We wanted to avail of their All-You-Can-Eat-Dimsum for P750 and it was the perfect time to since it was a weekday. Take note that this offer is only available from Monday to Saturday (except holidays) from 11am to 2:30pm. Kids aged 6-11 years old need to pay only P500 while kids below 6 get to eat for free.
Thus we went down to Passion Restaurant right after checking out.
We were all quite hungry since we spent the morning swimming at Maxims' pool. The way it goes is, you are given a dimsum menu on paper and you tick what you want to order so everything's freshly cooked. There are 18 different dimsum you can order, 10 short order dishes which include rice, noodles, and congee, and 3 types of dessert. It's a pretty hefty selection, and we started off with Steamed "Sio Mai" Pork Dumplings with Shrimps (pictured above) which we all enjoyed very much.
Then we ordered Chef's Special Fried Rice (pictured above left) to go with our dimsum. I also had Chao Chow Dumpling (pictured above right) which contained a mix of diced carrots, sweet corn kernels, mushrooms, and ground pork.
Hubby ordered Steamed Giant Dumplings with Shrimps (pictured above). The shrimps looked like they were ready to burst out of the wrapper, which is good because you know they didn't scrimp.
I sampled Deep Fried Taro Puff (pictured above left) and Deep Fried Ham Shui Kok (pictured above right).
I don't remember what these are unfortunately because hubby was the one who ordered them. XD
Our son wanted
siopao so we ordered Steamed Barbecued Pork Buns (pictured above). In the background is hubby's Steamed Spare Ribs in Black Sauce.
We also decided to have some short order dishes since it was lunch time and it was included in the dimsum-all-you-can menu. We had Braised Fish Fillet with Salted Preserved Vegetable (pictured above). Big chunks of soft fish are breaded and then stewed with vegetables.
Our favorite was Sweet and Sour Pork with Fresh Fruits (pictured above). Passion Restaurant really excels when it comes to this dish. The pork is lean and crunchy, cooked just right so that it makes both kids and adults happy! Instead of just pineapples, a variety of cubed fresh fruits are used. It's soooo yummy! I think we had two plates of this. Whenever we have a set dinner at Passion we always make sure to include their Sweet and Sour Pork.
We had Steamed Fish Fillet with Garlic Sauce (pictured above) too. Delicious!
For dessert, we decided to order Chilled Almond Jelly with Mixed Fruits (pictured above left) and Deep Fried Stuffed Sesame Balls with Lotus Paste or buchi (pictured above right). Typical, but a good way to end a hearty meal nonetheless.
Passion's All-You-Can-Eat-Dimsum is worth every cent as you get the best of everything -- the hotel dining experience and a wide selection of food all at a fixed, affordable price. Again, it costs P750 net for adults and P500 net for children 6-11 years old. Kids below 6 years old eat for free. Reservations are recommended. Don't forget it's only available for lunch from Mon-Sat except holidays.
