Lancome in Shangri-la Plaza Mall and the P20k miracle cream!

Last June 16, I witnessed the unveiling of the new and improved Lancome counter in Rustan's Department Store at Shangri-la Plaza Mall. It was very bright and fully stocked with all the latest products.

I was there for the actual ribbon-cutting. :)

We were handed these guides so that we could give ourselves an in-depth self-guided tour.

The guide's first page had the Lancome Absolue L'Extrait, Lancome's most premium anti-aging cream to ever be released.

It is in fact currently being endorsed by none other than Julia Roberts.

So I made my way to the Lancome Absolue L'Extrait display. A 50ml jar costs a whopping P20,000 -- and I thought Creme De La Mer was expensive at P7,000+. It's priced as so because this elixir is made with stem cells extracted from the Lancome rose... and it only blooms once a year.

Of course I had to experience this miracle cream for myself!

I applied a bit to my hand. It felt sticky at first but several minutes after application my skin was incredibly soft and smooth. Lancome was generous enough to provide us with 15ml sample jars we could take home so I will eventually be test driving Lancome Absolue L'Extrait on my face. Doing the math, 15ml = P5,000. Wow. This will officially be the most expensive cream I would have ever used on my face.

Lancome Absolue is a complete anti-aging skin care line and the Lancome Absolue L'Extrait is its crowning jewel. If you're not budget constrained, why not, right? After all, we only have one face to take care of. :)

I also checked out Lancome's latest lip color collection, Rouge in Love.

These lipsticks have a feather light texture and yet promise 6 hours of unstoppable color. I have a couple of sample shades which I will eventually review.
