Four things to do before I'm 40!

Being sick the last several days has put several things in perspective for me. A couple of weeks ago I caught sore eyes from our household helper. Just as I was about to fully recover from that, I came down with a slight case of the flu and then eventually some tummy troubles which had me going to the bathroom ever so often. I had to cancel commitments, miss my daughter's school activities, skip work, take a break from blogging, and well... just stay in bed to try to rest. It's not exactly the most productive way to spend your days but when your body has had enough, you have no choice.

I got a call from CalChews last Friday. It was a challenge to come up with four things I want to accomplish before I turn 40. Having had time to reflect, I realize that I'm just a couple of years shy of that age! I've been seeing CalChews billboards lately and I knew at the very least that it's a new kind of calcium supplement.

Without further ado, here's my list:

Tuscany, Italy
#1 Visit Europe -- any part of Europe!

I consider myself quite well-travelled, having been able to organize highly customized self-made tours of Japan and Taiwan for our family prior to having ever set foot in those countries. I also go to the US a lot since my mom is based there. The one continent I've never visited though is Europe. Since Europe is a very picturesque place with a lot of sights to see, I figured I'd better get cracking while I'm in my prime so I can make the most of the trip.

Madonna at the Superbowl
#2 Watch Madonna perform live!

I won't even be picky. I won't say concert... it could be a Superbowl halftime performance like the one in the photo above, a special number in an awards show... any live performance!!! I've been a Madonna fanatic ever since I was a teenager and I admire her even more now that she's in her 50's and still rocking our world! She inspires me because she is living proof that age is just a number. She's also a reminder that we should take good care of our bodies.

#3 Accept paid make-up gigs.

Yes I have the training, I even have the certification from HD Studio... but I don't have the guts hahaha! So far all I've done are pro-bono party make-up for relatives and friends. I need to muster up enough mojo to actually charge people for my make-up artistry.

Write a book!
#4 Write a book.

I've always loved writing. I think this is rooted in my love affair with reading which started during my childhood days. While I'm very thankful for the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences via this blog plus the magazine articles I write, I'd like to go a step further with a book. What will I write about? Oh I don't know... it could be non-fiction, something related to parenting along the lines of why I don't believe in tutors... or it could be fiction since I often get flashes of scenes in my imagination that would look good in a book or movie. I just hope I get around to doing it soon!

CalChews
To be honest I've never really been in the habit of taking vitamins and supplements daily but this recent bout with sickness has definitely made me reconsider. That said, I welcome these CalChews samples with open... uh... palms? :D

CalChews
Anyhow, one small box of CalChews like this one contains 15 chewy morsels of calcium + vitamins D and K. Each one is individually wrapped for your convenience. These nutrients are vital for bone strength, something we all need especially as we grow older and lose more of our bone density. You can tote it around in your bag so you don't forget to take it.

It's just like candy! I've tried both flavors (Caramel and Chocolate) and both are yummy! I can't decide which one I like better. If I plan to go on a European trek, keep up with Madonna's high-energy performance, accept make-up gigs, and write a book before I'm 40, I'm definitely going to need all the bone strength I can get!

What about you? Anything you'd like to do before you're 40? Do share! Find out more about CalChews from http://www.CalChews.com.ph. You can also find CalChews on Facebook and Twitter.
