Benefit Beauty Confessions Blogger Party!

I attended my first Benefit event in the form of the Benefit Beauty Confessions Blogger Party held last May 30, 2012.

Now one of the highlights of the party was the introduction of Benefit's The POREfessional. It's an oil-free cream that minimizes pores and fine lines. Each of us got to take home a tube so I'll be posting a review soon.

Honestly I was quite excited to attend because one of the first beauty products I ever bought in the past (the very far past, haha!) was the Benefit It Stick, a one-shade-fits-all concealer in pencil form. I bought it from Bloomingdale's in the US when I was still single, so that's how far back my relationship with Benefit goes. It has been discontinued though, so it was never available here in the Philippines.

Anyhow, we were told that we could choose to take home any Benefit product on the table above in exchange for a beauty confession that answers the question "Have you ever faked it?" from us which would be recorded on video. Hmm... you can confess 2-3x I think, then take home 2-3 products.

I made two confessions:

1. During my grossly obese days (basically the whole of 2011), I would crop my photos in such a way that my flabby arms would not show so much... so in a way, yes, it's faking it. I still looked fat of course but had I not cropped it would have been worse. XD
2. I fake it all the time with my hair. The hair I was born with is like something out of a troll's nightmare -- thick, coarse, wavy in all the wrong places... I have it rebonded regularly so yeah, in a way my hair is always faking it. :p

So for confessing all this fakery, I took home the following products:

• Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow SPF 25 PA+++ Brightening Make-Up in Petal, simply because practically everyone at the event was raving about it.

• Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream, since dark undereye circles are my perennial problem.

Then we were introduced to Benefit's ultimate brow book entitled "Raising Eyebrows" by Cameron Tuttle. It will be sold in limited quantities at all Benefit stores for P999.

"Raising Eyebrows" contains everything you need to know in order to achieve fabulous brows. It's a hardcover book with full-color pages too.

I might get a copy myself one of these days. :)

Then we played Truth or Dare, Benefit style. They even have their own custom spinner, haha!

You pick either a Truth or Dare card depending on where the arrow lands. Then you follow the instructions on the card... either you answer the question truthfully or do the dare that's specified on it.

It was a really fun evening with Benefit and fellow bloggers! Full product reviews to follow so stay tuned! I've missed Benefit since it wasn't available in the Philippines before so I'm very excited! :D
