L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder Foundation

I was sent a compact of L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder late last year for review. I'm not too fond of pressed powder in general, more so now that my skin is dry, so it took a while before I could review it.

L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder FoundationL'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder Foundation comes in this snazzy rectangular compact. It comes in five shades and I got G1 Vanilla Ivory which is the lightest shade. I originally got G3 Golden Ivory but it was a tad too dark for me so I switched with another blogger who got a lighter shade. I'm probably a G2 though, but G1 was closer to my skin tone compared to G3. :)

L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder FoundationAnyhow, since I have dry skin at present using powder is kind of tricky for me -- but more on that in a bit. L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder Foundation actually does whiten and brighten instantly after application, just check out my before and after photos above. That said, it's really important to find a shade that closely matches your skin tone so you don't look like a floating head.

What I like about L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder Foundation:
  • It's very easy to use if you have normal to combination skin, just swipe the sponge on the pressed powder and then apply onto your face.
  • Applied properly, it can yield a nice even finish without looking cakey.
  • It instantly brightens the face.
  • It's very lightweight.
  • It has SPF 19 PA+++ for sun protection.
  • It's refillable so if you like it, it'll be cheaper when you go back for more.
Downside? If you have dry skin applying straight will highlight the dryness and it won't look natural. Coverage is also on the light side so it won't really conceal anything.

Some application tips:
  • Don't skip the skin care. Cleanse, tone, and most importantly, moisturize before putting on this product. Moisturizing beforehand ensures that you get a more natural finish that doesn't look powdery. The powder foundation will stay put longer too.
  • Use concealer before applying to cover dark undereye circles and blemishes. I did not use concealer in my photos above and so my dark undereye circles are very obvious.
  • Finish off with a kabuki brush or face brush to even out the powder for a more natural look.
L'oreal White Perfect Pearl Duo-Tone Whitening Powder Foundation (whew!) is available for P995 in leading department stores and drugstores like Watson's nationwide. Refills are P200 less, costing P795 per pan.
