Had my photo taken by the photo wall upon entering. OT but yey I'm wearing my favorite accessory -- a necklace I got from The Little Things She Needs. Looking at this photo I realize that I am in dire need of a hair cut... and that I must continue my quest to lose weight this 2012.
The event was hosted by Rovilson Fernandez. I'm a fan from his Amazing Race Asia days with Marc Nelson. Marc and Rovi are hands down my most favorite team ever!!!

These phones will be available in the Philippines on January 13, 2012!
Then he took us through the new Blackberry 7 OS which the five phones are running. So what's new?
- BlackBerry 7 features Liquid Graphics technology. That said, BB will have stunning graphics, more fluid animations, and faster response times in terms of visuals.
- Fast BlackBerry browser for more efficient web browsing.
- Augmented Reality (kind of like a souped up FourSquare but involving your BBM friends)
- Near Field Communications (NFC) which turns your BB into a bluetooth radio (I think) so you can communicate with fellow NFC devices nearby.
- HD video recording in 720p
- Voice-activated universal search using speech-to-text translation
- Pre-installed apps and services like BBM, Documents to Go, BlackBerry Protect, etc.

The Establishment was packed with media guests.
Days before the event we were asked a survey question: "How do you think BlackBerry can help you jumpstart 2012?". The most creative answer would get a special surprise. Anyhow, I submitted the following 15 minutes before the deadline:How Blackberry can help jumpstart my 2012
By Rowena Wendy Lei
A Blackberry is what I need to meet
Deadlines that I normally can’t beat
BBM will help me stay connected and in touch
With editors, interviewees, contributors, and such
I’ll never be bored, I’ll never be idle
With incredible data plans that are worth my while
Blackberry App World makes things more fun
I can download everything I want under the sun
With a BB in hand I’ll jumpstart my year
And I’ll do it grinning from ear to ear!
I composed the above rhyme in approximately 15 minutes. I was expecting that they'd simply give a BlackBerry smartphone to whoever had the most creative answer because they did something like that last year. They flashed the winning answer that BlackBerry Asia Pacific had selected on the screen and it was mine!
But no, I was really floored because Francois Mahieu said that I would also get a BlackBerry Playbook to bridge the BB smartphone with. So I took home a BlackBerry Torch 9860 and a BlackBerry Playbook 32GB that day. And yes, just as I said, I'm grinning from ear to ear!!!
