Instead of the usual three designs we see every year, there's now five. Well it's actually just one design but it comes in five different wood finishes: Poplar, Bamboo, Cherry, Spruce, and Oak. Not only that, it's also packed with a free sleeve which doubles as something you can put other stuff in.
We got to take home Oak and Spruce.

Each planner now comes with a serial number too for security reasons.

Unboxing one reveals the entire package wrapped in plastic.
Although it's possible to choose which wooden finish you'd like for the cover, there's no way of knowing the color of the sleeve you'll get with it.
You can snap the sleeve to secure it with this metal button emblazoned with the Starbucks logo.
Inside the sleeve is of course, the planner. This is the Spruce cover.

The planner comes with the usual coupons and bookmark.

There are 9 Starbucks coupons valid for specific months within 2012.

The coupons feature stuff like free upsize, free add-on, etc.
This is the bookmark, it's now a separate entity made of thick and sturdy cardboard.
The design elements and logos are laser cut onto the surface.

Yup, even the logo is laser cut. :)

This is the backside of the cover.
Inside the planner are the usual colored photos pertaining to Starbucks and having coffee.
Of course, there are pages for actually planning your months and days.
The back end of the planner has a pocket where you can store your coupons.
Due to popular request, here's a side-by-side size comparison of the Starbucks Planner 2011 and 2012...
...and here they are on top of each other.
What do you think? There are three (3) ways you can avail of the Starbucks Planner 2012 starting November 3, 2011:
