Do you have what it takes to be the Sooo Pinoy Ultimate Food Blogger?

I was invited to take part in an intimate dinner gathering for the unveiling of what's probably every foodie's dream. Let's put it this way... when will you ever get the chance to embark on an all-expense paid 30-day food trip all over the Philippines? Interested? Then read on. :D

Food from Luzon at Milky Way CafeTo give us a small sampling of what's in store, Unilever Food Services commissioned Milky Way Cafe in Makati City to prepare a buffet spread of Pinoy dishes hailing from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sinigang na Sugpo at Milky Way CafeFor Luzon there was Sinigang na Sugpo (pictured above) and Beef Morcon with Tomato Sauce. I have to apologize for the quality of the pics. I took them while I was lined up for the buffet so I was in a rush to finish since there were people behind me.

Food from Visayas at Milky Way CafeFor Visayas, there was Pork Humba, some sort of Mechado (sorry neglected to read and take a photo), and Turon.

Pork Humba at Milky Way CafeThe Pork Humba (pictured above) was hands down my favorite dish for the night. There were a lot of sweet saba (banana) pieces, so yummy. :D

Turon at Milky Way Cafe
The turon (banana fritter) had langka (jackfruit) inside.

Food from Mindanao at Milky Way Cafe
From Mindanao there was Kropek, Beef Caldereta, and Buko Pandan.

Halo-halo at Milky Way CafeOf course all of us just had to have Milky Way's famous halo-halo. So creamy and delicious, it's really one of the best out there. <3

Sooo Pinoy Search for the Ultimate Food BloggerAnyhow... UFS' Sooo Pinoy advocacy is currently on the lookout for that one person who will be hailed as the Sooo Pinoy Ultimate Food Blogger. The search is open to ALL bloggers so it doesn't matter if you just started today or 10 years ago.

Composed of three rounds, the Search will measure the bloggers’ writing skills and their ability to engage readers. Each round is designed to test the bloggers’ creativity and passion for the advocacy. There is no voting aspect. Whoever wins this contest will do so by the sole merit of his works as judged by a panel.

Ultimately, the winning blogger should be able to encourage Pinoys to discover our cultural identity through Filipino cuisine. He/she will go on a 30-day all-expense paid food trip (it includes Boracay!) which will cover 101 restaurants all over the Philippines. The 30 days + 101 restaurants will be spread over a period of 6 months.

To join, bloggers must submit an entry for round 1, a blog article that explains why they deserve to be the Ultimate Food Blogger. All entries must be received before October 24, 2011. Entries will be judged according to creativity, quality of the write-up, and popularity among readers. Only those who pass the first round will continue on to rounds 2 and 3 in the hope of becoming the Sooo Pinoy Ultimate Food Blogger.
