Unilab Ideas Positive 2011 is a yearly activity wherein groups of college students are asked to share their innovative and sustainable ideas that address health and wellness concerns of communities in the Philippines. It's basically a competition between schools, with the winning team bagging P250,000 seed money to jumpstart their project.
The need or problem of the chosen community should fall under one of the following categories:
- Hygiene and Sanitation
- Disease Prevention
- Environmental Care and Protection
Last year, Team BIGGKAS from the University of the Asia and the Pacific won top prize for their proposal "Buklod Bukid: Sowing Nutrition, Reaping Hope", a hydroponics gardening project which aims to address malnutrition among children of Barangay San Joaquin, Pasig City.
I urge you to take the time to check this out. It only takes a few minutes but it could make a world of difference for a community in need. You can view and vote for the videos here - http://www.unilabideaspositive.com/videos.html but before you can do so you will have to like the Unilab Ideas Positive Facebook Page HERE.
