Now Brieo's first food deal is for Big Bad Wolf Restaurant, an equally new establishment at The Fort. It's quite cozy inside Big Bad Wolf since you can opt to occupy the living room-esque couches instead of the dining tables.
We started off with Bacon-Wrapped Dates (P280, pictured above). I loved the salty-sweet combination served on lettuce and what seemed like pita bread.
Potato Skins with Boursin Dip (P120, pictured above) is another savory appetizer. Thinly sliced seasoned potato skins are fried to a crisp and then served with a creamy sour cream and chives based dip.
Goat Cheese and Chorizo Rolls (P240, pictured above) are basically puff pastries filled with chorizo pieces and creamy goat cheese (kesong puti). Yummy!
I dislike chicken but I enjoyed Honey-Soy Glazed Chicken Wings (P170, pictured above). Incredibly crunchy outside and thoroughly cooked inside, this is the way chicken should be done. It's reminiscent of Bon Chon Chicken but it's served with kani (crabstick) salad on the side.
Fresh Tuna Wraps with Wasabi Mayo (P220, pictured above) is another unique offering.
A piece of tender raw tuna (maguro sashimi) is wrapped in lettuce and then served with wasabi (horseradish) mayo for a slightly spicy kick.
Poached Egg Carbonara (P270, pictured above) was described by the owner as deconstructed carbonara because instead of mixing in the eggs with the cream sauce, it's served poached on top of the pasta. I like it because it feels lighter than the usual carbonara. It doesn't over saturate your taste buds and throat, something richer and creamier sauces tend to do.
Not a fan of white sauce? Chorizo Spaghetti (P220, pictured above) is a great alternative. Spicy chorizo bits sauteed in olive oil and garlic are tossed with al dente spaghetti noodles. It's topped with lots of finely shaved parmesan cheese too. :D
Sometime during the meal I ordered Iced Organic Coffee which some of my tablemates were having. I didn't see it on the menu so I don't know the exact name and the cost. It's very good. I think it's perfectly brewed so it's neither too strong nor too mild. It isn't overly sweet too so I had no trouble finishing the glass. It did however, keep me awake till the wee hours of the morning. XD
When Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup (P230, pictured above) was laid out in front of us, I was advised to dip the bread into the soup before eating. Yum!
We also had Peppered Chuck Steak (P490, pictured above). Two burger-shaped (but it's not ground beef, it's real steak) pieces of tender steak are encrusted with peppercorns then served with gravy, mashed potatoes, and goat cheese salad. The steak is on the spicy side. It was okay.
Then a plate full of desserts was brought out. These aren't on the menu yet because Big Bad Wolf is still in the process of testing them before deciding which ones to keep on a permanent basis. Personally I liked the Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. :D
