It was a very casual affair. We were reminded of the importance of moisture for the skin. Notice how I do not refer to Dove as soap. That's because it's not soap. It's a moisturizing cleanser that comes in bar form. Anyway, we were all asked to proceed to the ladies' room where a basket of Dove Beauty Bars and face towels were waiting for us.
We were all given a bar to wash our faces with. Since I had make-up on (I was gunning for a no make-up look so it's not very obvious haha!) I decided to wash just a small portion of my cheek. But before washing, we were given a wand that resembles an ear thermometer. It's called a Moisture Checker in some skin care sites.
We're supposed to press the Moisture Checker against an area of our face so it can measure the moisture level of our skin. I chose to do so on my cheek since it was going to be the area I was washing with Dove Beauty Bar. My pre-wash level was around 32. We were told the higher the number, the better moisturized your skin is. After washing with Dove I measured again and my level was a whopping 48. That's how moisturizing Dove Beauty Bar is. If you're not inclined to maintain a multi-step regimen Dove Beauty Bar can double as both cleanser and moisturizer. I read that healthy skin's moisture level is 35.5+ so I was actually short by a few points hahaha! Good to know that just after one wash with Dove Beauty Bar it's way up there already.
We also took a skin age quiz where my results indicated that I had the skin of a 20-year old. Oh I sure hope that's true. I invest a lot in skin care to the point of obsession so I hope I'm getting my money's worth hahaha!

The highlight of the evening was a make-up demo by none other than make-up artist extraordinaire Xeng Zulueta. Xeng practically launched and built up my favorite make-up brand Shu Uemura here in the Philippines. She actually trained under Shu Uemura himself. Idol! :D
In line with Dove's advocacy which promoted natural beauty, Xeng demonstrated how to do a quick no make-up look. She told us that people should notice how nice your skin is, not how pretty your make-up is. :p
Xeng did it fairly quickly, using basic products like powder foundation, cream blush, eyebrow mascara, and lipstick. Her general methodology is a lot different from what I learned at Maquillage Professionnel so I was only too happy to watch and hopefully pick up something new from her.
It was a fun night of beauty with fellow bloggers and Dove Beauty Bar despite the stormy weather outside. :DLike this post? Subscribe to this blog by clicking HERE.
