- Lea Salonga, because she is a performer that I really admire. She's smart and she's talented, definitely more than just a pretty smiling face. I actually bought her cassette tape when I was a little girl... the one with songs like I am But a Small Voice, Tomorrow, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, etc.
- I declined the last Bounty Fresh event and I wanted to know about their chicken. Well, I actually dislike chicken but the rest of the family likes it and I'm in charge of groceries so... yeah, must find out about the chicken.
- Our friend whom we lovingly refer to as Doña Joan won a designer bag from Chic Moms Club promo so I was there to witness the awarding.

The event was hosted by Issa Litton.
I don't really remember what happened before Lea Salonga was called to the stage... I guess I was dazed from hunger? Hahahaha. Anyways Lea talked about the Chic Moms Club a bit. I'm already a member and so there wasn't really anything that I didn't know yet. It would've been good had they actually let us taste the chicken, yes?
And then Doña Joan got her brand spanking new Gucci bag on the stage... the style reminds me of Louis Vuitton's Speedy bag. Gawsh I want a Hermes Birkin bag. Maybe after I write a thousand magazine articles? Hahahaha!
Of course, no event with Lea Salonga is complete without a song number. She indulged us fans with a rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Wow, the same song I used to listen to on cassette when I was something like 6 or 8 years old. Talk about surreal. I love the way she sings. Her face doesn't get contorted and stuff, in fact she looks so pretty and positively wrinkle-free when she sings.
Yaaay for Lea! I actually went to school with her younger brother Gerard. I remember Gerard getting our Lea CDs signed backstage during the musical Grease's run here in Manila ages ago. I haven't seen him in a very long time so I was kinda hoping he'd be there somehow since he's always Lea's musical director.
They also talked about Rags to Riches bags by Amina Aranaz(?). The details are kind of sketchy to me and I have no reference to check since only traditional media people were given press kits. Maybe next time I should drop the name of any of the magazines I write for? :p
Photo op with Lea, too bad I look like something the cat dragged in... hahaha! I had an early day at the office and I had no time to do my hair or make-up. Oh well.Like this post? Subscribe to this blog by clicking HERE.
