According to The Cookie Jar owner Rae Corpuz it contains her latest product... French Macarons! Rae describes a French Macaron as a moist confectionery cookie made from egg whites, sugar, and almond powder with buttercream or ganache filling.
I was delighted to find eight colorful French Macarons when I opened the box. There were two of each flavor and I got four flavors: Vanilla Buttercream, Lemon, Pistachio, and Carrot Cake (I think). The flavors not included here are Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Red Velvet. A box of eight like this one costs P225, while a box of twenty costs P520.
I would describe French Macarons as light and airy creme-filled meringue sandwiches. The lemon flavored one is citrusy and rather refreshing.
The Pistachio French Macaron has a unique texture due to tiny bits of pistachio nuts incorporated into the meringue. It's not overly sweet too. :)
Um, I'm not sure if this is Carrot Cake or Red Velvet. There wasn't really a distinct taste I could identify.
