Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment at Akira Hair & Make-Up Studio

I recently availed of a 52% off coupon at Awesome.ph for a Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment at Akira Hair & Make-Up Studio. Instead of paying P2,000, I paid only P960.

Akira Hair & Make-up Studio at A Venue MallAkira Hair & Make-up Studio is located in A Venue Mall. It's owned and run by a Japanese stylist named Akira. :)

Before the Yuko Yamashita Hair TreatmentI have rebonded hair and so it really needs all the treatment it can get. I have great faith in Japanese stylists, salons, and products so I was quite excited to undergo the Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment.

Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment at Akira SalonMy hair was shampooed and conditioned and then my hair was sprayed with the Kokoro G treatment solution from the Yuko System. My hair was blow-dried afterwards.

Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment at Akira SalonWhen my hair was dry, a hot iron was used to seal in the treatment. After ironing, they asked me to go back to the shampoo area so they could apply the Kokoro G rinse off deep conditioning treatment.

After the Yuko Yamashita Hair Treatment at Akira SalonAfter the treatment was completely rinsed off, my hair was blow-dried again. It fell straight. It was not as soft and shiny as I expected though. The whole process lasted approximately one (1) hour.

Some observations after the treatment:
  • Each strand of hair felt heavy, as if it was coated with something to weigh it down.
  • My hair felt thicker all over... and that's not good because my hair is already too thick. Stylists are always finding ways of cutting it to make it seem thinner.
  • The ends of my hair tend to stick together for some reason.
  • My hair didn't look glossy and it was not as light and natural as I would've liked.
  • Nothing really dramatic happened, I guess my expectations were too high.
I've shampooed a few times after I had the treatment last Saturday and I'm still experiencing all of the above. I'm kind of disappointed really. I'd like to add that although my hair felt thicker and heavier, it fell flat and straight so no additional volume was added.

If it's worth anything I liked the salon's interiors and the service. I also noticed that most of the patrons are Japanese. When my hair grows longer I may try to have a haircut from Akira himself... by then I should be ready to spring P1,500 unless he offers his cut as a deal. You'd be surprised at how fluent he is in Tagalog yet he can barely speak English. :p
