Kolours Luster for ammonia-free hair coloring!

I had the chance to personally preview Splash Corporation's latest at-home hair coloring line last Feb. 22, 2011 at the Edsa Shangri-la Hotel.

Kolours Luster ammonia-free hair colorKolours Luster, Splash's high-end line was introduced. Luster is demi-permanent and ammonia-free so it's safer and gentler for the hair. The color lasts for 6-8 weeks. There are three shades to choose from:
  • Adore Me Chestnut
  • Delight Me Mahogany
  • Pamper Me Brown

Kolours Luster hair makeover at Head Zone SalonMy hair was dry cut first and then divided into sections to be colored. I chose the shade Delight Me Mahogany since it seemed the lightest and most obvious shade. I mean, what's the point of choosing a dark shade that can't be seen, right?

Kolours Luster hair makeover at Head Zone SalonKolours Luster has a very light scent that's not bothersome or overpowering. There's also no stinging sensation when it touches your scalp. In fact it feels very cool upon application.

Kolours Luster hair makeover at Head Zone SalonAfter coloring, my hair was blow-dried and ironed. Okay, in order for me to give you an accurate account of my Luster by Kolours experience, take note that:
  • My hair was rebonded last October.
  • My hair was permanently colored last November.
Kolours Luster hair makeover at Head Zone SalonMy hair felt heavy and sticky right after the session -- I suspect it's because it was because the color was not completely shampooed out. The stylist just took inches off without really changing the style. My hair was ironed too, so this is not an accurate picture of what it's really like. I was told that the color will get brighter and my hair will get lighter after a few shampoos.

Kolours Luster resultsTwo shampoos later, I checked my hair again at home. The color was indeed brighter, you can see the reddish hue even under flourescent lights. I used Lebel shampoo and intensive conditioner from Japan (more on that in another post) and my hair was back to its original soft and shiny state. This is its natural state without ironing. Yay!

Kolours Luster resultsI'm pretty satisfied with Kolours Luster in terms of gray coverage and lightening. For something without ammonia, I was impressed at how much lighter my hair was after coloring. I have really dark jet black hair that's quite hard to lighten so yeah, it's pretty cool. :)

Kolours Luster in Delight Me MahoganyThis is the exact product which was used on me. Kolours Luster costs P385 per pack and is available at all Watsons, SM Department Stores, Robinsons Department Stores, and Mercury Drug Stores nationwide.
