I decided to order a Bucket of 3 wings cooked in Sunrise Original sauce (P99, pictured above). It came in a small metal pail. Aside from Sunrise Original, other flavor variants are:- Smokin' BBQ
- Garlic Parmesan
- Ultimate Crazy Hot
- Jalapeño
- Jack Daniels
- Buffalo Wings
Sunrise Original sauce is sweet and tangy with a slight kick. I liked it a lot! Goes so well with the crispy fried wings. People who know me know that I'm not fond of chicken so that's actually high praise... hahaha! I was told that Sunrise Original and Smokin' BBQ are the bestsellers.
You're handed a disposable plastic glove with every order of chicken wings so you can eat without having to worry about getting your hands dirty.
Living up to its name, it did taste ordinary... like it's made from US Frozen Potatoes. :p
For the kids, I decided to get Poppers in Smokin' BBQ, which are small chicken breast chunks fried to a crisp and cooked in the flavor of your choice. They cost P105 per order and each order has about 8-10 pieces. Given that it's one of the bestsellers, I found the Smokin' BBQ flavor to be a bit disappointing because it wasn't as tasty as I expected.
Meanwhile Richard ordered Chili Con Carne (P125, pictured above). It was served with a small pack of crackers on the side.
I was surprised by the sheer amount of grated cheese which topped the Chili Con Carne. We all had a spoonful and it was just a bit spicy. It was okay, a tad too dry for my tastes as my idea of good chili is Wendy's Chili Con Carne which is quite saucy. :p
Hubby decided to have a Taco (P70, pictured above). The contents promptly spilled out after it was served. It tasted more like Jolly Spaghetti in a shell. Not very good I'm afraid, but totally big and bursting with pasty ground meat.
I was surprised that they had Boneless Buffalo Wings (P210 for 200g, a piece is pictured above) on the menu. Like the wings and the Poppers, you can choose what sauce they're cooked in. This one is in Sunrise Original. Boneless Buffalo Wings are chicken breast strips fried to a crisp. Love it! I hate having to contend with chicken bones so this is perfect for me.
We were also able to try Jalapeño wings, which turned out to be really yummy! It had just the right combination of sweet and spicy, plus the appetizing aroma of jalapenos. It's a new variant that was just introduced today. :)
My kids had a Vanilla Milkshake (P75, pictured above) to wash it all down. My son commented that it had a different taste but that it was great. I took a sip and discovered that its base is lime soda (maybe 7-Up or Sprite) so it's really more like an ice cream soda float. I agree that it's really good though, not overly sweet like the usual milkshakes.
Surprisingly, Sunrise Buckets serves coffee too! We were all treated to a cup of cappuccino on the house. It's not on the menu yet so I don't know how much it costs.Prices for chicken wings:
- Bucket of 3 - P99
- Bucket of 6 - P185
- Bucket of 10 - P285
- Bucket of 24 - P655
Great tasting chicken, really... I just wish the wings were bigger. :)
