We liked that it was very relaxed since it was right after lunch. There weren't too many people, in fact I think we were the only ones seated at the time. We were given these colorful hardbound picture books to order from -- yes, those actually are menus.
We eventually decided on the Fondue (P880, pictured above) for the four of us (hubby, myself, son, daughter) to share. It came with 16 mini-scoops of ice cream in Macadamia Nut, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, and Coffee flavors. There were also spongecake cubes, cookies, fresh fruits, picola sticks, and roasted almonds -- all for dipping into the rich chocolate sauce.
The fresh fruits included bananas, green apples, and strawberries. The chocolate sauce was kept liquid and slightly heated by a votive candle under the bowl.
When you dip a mini-scoop of ice cream into the chocolate and let it stand a bit, it sort of freezes over and forms a crisp chocolate coating. You can roll it onto the small bowl of chopped almonds right after dipping so you get a chocolate and nut coated treat.A pricey indulgence but worth trying at least once. :)
