Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 + McAfee Wavesecure = Security

I'm a die hard Sony Ericsson mobile phone loyalist. Yes, my last five phones prior to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini that I am using now were all SE phones. In fact, the first colored cellphone I've ever owned was the Sony Ericsson T68.

My cellphone history:

1. Sony Ericsson T68
2. Sony Ericsson z320i
3. Sony Ericsson z600i (stolen)
4. Sony Ericsson w300i (still in use as my Sun phone)
5. Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 (still in my closet, I hate Windows Mobile)
6. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini (now in use as my main phone)

So naturally, when I was invited to witness the unveiling of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, I said yes in a heartbeat.


Like my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini, the Xperia X8 is an android phone... meaning it runs on Android, the OS (Operating System) developed by Google. It's really like having a mini computer in your hands since you can email, Facebook, download apps, and even watch Youtube videos on it.

It's bigger than my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini, but it works more or less the same way. Too bad that's just a dummy phone up there, there were too many people lined up to play with the real thing... :p

I promise to post a very detailed review of my cellphone instead -- I think I'm in a good position to provide an accurate one since I've been using it for 3 months already.

Check out the cool matte casing with that gradient color scheme. I love it! Oooh before I forget, another important thing about the Xperia X8 is that it comes with the McAfee Wavesecure.

McAfee Wavesecure is pre-installed in Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. It lets users back up data (SMS, call logs, contacts, and media) to their secure server and it can all be restored on any smart phone of their choice. Another great thing about this is it protects your data in case your cellphone gets stolen. You can remotely lock your phone and wipe all data. You can even track your lost phone through map locations.

You can use McAfee Wavesecure for three (3) months free of charge if you purchase the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. Afterwards, licensing would cost an estimated P895 a year. If you have other Sony Ericsson android phones in your possession, you can simply download this application from Marketplace. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8's suggested retail price is P11,600.
