Philippine Fashion Week opens with a lot of luxe from Pond's Gold Radiance!

Time for another break from the backlogs! Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 is here -- and it's happening till Oct. 30, 2010!

I admit it: I hate going to the SM Mall of Asia. It's far from where I live and going there in the middle of weekday rush hour during a -ber month is really asking for big time punishment.

I am exasperated at the fact that the entire Philippine Fashion Week is unfolding there. Much as I'd like to see several shows that I had been invited to, I regret to say I declined everything except for the Pond's Gold Radiance fashion show last Oct. 26, 2010 featuring creations by designers Dennis Lustico, JC Buendia, Jun Escario, and Rajo Laurel.

Needless to say, the theme of the night was gold. Dennis Lustico and JC Buendia's creations were modelled first. Unfortunately, I was still finding my angle and getting used to the models' pace. In short, all my photos of the first two collections suck. Luckily, I got the hang of it by the time Jun Escario's golden gowns came out. He was the third in line. The finale was of course, Rajo Laurel's collection.

I love Kelly Misa. She always has this big smile whenever she'd sashay down the catwalk. She looks so happy and down-to-earth.

A woman of many talents, Amina Aranaz is not only a famous bag designer... she has made a name for herself in the modelling industry too.

I liked Jun Escario and Rajo Laurel's collections best. Jun for coming up with a collection of glamorous golden gowns and Rajo for his versatile collection which had everything from shorts to skirts, pants, and gowns.

Top Philippine models in goldI've never seen so many of the Philippines' top models all in a single fashion show. Aside from those in the photos I've posted above, there was also Rissa Mananquil, Joey Mead, Divine Lee, and Ria Bolivar.

Tweetie De Leon unveiled as Pond's Gold Radiance endorserThe event was hosted by Tessa Prieto-Valdes, who also unveiled Tweetie De Leon as the official endorser of the Pond's Gold Radiance line. The stage was pretty far from where the audience were seated and so I couldn't really take a closer shot.

Tessa Prieto-Valdes at the Ponds Gold Radiance showI did however, get to take a photo of Tessa Prieto-Valdes after the show. Too bad I was all alone and so I couldn't ask anyone to take a photo of her with me. :p

For the Pond's Gold Radiance show, the call time was 5:30pm but the show started at 7pm. It lasted 30 minutes, whereas it took me more than an hour to get to the venue in terms of travel time. I loved the show though... :p
