Myproperty.ph is the product of a joint venture between Summit Media and Ringier AG, Switzerland's leading media company. You may wonder why I was there since it's no secret that I dislike bars and well, the whole thing was just so very... business-like, right?
- It's not a bar event per se and the product being launched isn't even alcoholic.
- I play a big part in helping to run the family real estate business, so myproperty.ph is something that is very relevant to my daily life.
Myproperty.ph aims to be the most comprehensive online real estate portal in the Philippines. Whether you're looking to buy, sell, rent, or lease, it's being built to become THE foremost online resource when it comes to properties.I am usually tasked with renting out properties like dorms, condos, and commercial spaces in the family real estate business. As such, the internet is an invaluable tool for me when it comes to finding tenants. I can fill up vacancies simply by placing posts in various online classifieds.
So what sets myproperty.ph apart from other real estate sites? I got the chance to sit down and have a little chat with myproperty.ph's managing director Butz de Castro at the launch and asked.According to him, myproperty.ph will be powered by Summit Media's print and online publications in terms of exposure and increasing awareness, thus a phenomenal amount of web traffic is expected. Whereas sites like ayosdito.ph and olx.com.ph offer free postings for its users, myproperty.ph will allow only one free post per user. Any postings that follow will classify the user as a broker, and all classifieds after the first will be subject to a fee. Myproperty.ph will be offering competitive packages for brokers though.
Now as someone who has been utilizing the power of online classifieds in the last couple of years, I was skeptical about this particular business model. How can myproperty.ph possibly compete with the multitude of buy-and-sell type online classifieds who offer such services for free?
I guess time will tell how this is going to flesh out.
In the meantime, check out myproperty.ph for yourself. :)
