Comfort food at Mien San Noodle House
Mien San Noodle House has been standing along Granada Street for as long as I've lived in Quezon City... and I moved to QC when I got married back in 1999.
Upon taking a seat, you'll be served this appetizer. I think it's fried wonton wrappers. Sometimes they serve it savory, sometimes they serve it sweet. It's very crunchy and nice to nibble on as you peruse the menu and try to decide what to have.
These days I always go for the Fried Pork Chop Noodle (P148, pictured above) which comes with a bowl of noodles in piping hot soup and one piece of super crunchy and tasty pork chop that's sliced into pieces. This has actually been my hubby's favorite Mien San dish for more than a decade now so it's actually HIS comfort food. I used to always order something else but ever since I had a bit of that pork chop I've been hooked. It's very flavorful and it kind of reminds me of the pork chop I used to have at my grandmother's house when I was a little girl. You don't even need any sauce because it's already wonderful as it is. Meanwhile, the soup has a mild and clean taste which complements the savory pork chop nicely.
