CAV Wine Shop - Cafe is best known for its high-tech wine dispenser. You choose from their collection of over 450 wines and you can sample them by the glass. We just had iced tea though, since we were in for an activity-filled day and well being tipsy was really out of the question. :p
I've actually been to CAV several times in the past, but all of them involved events with just wines and pica-pica. This is the first time I actually sat down for a full meal.
We started off with a Young Arugula Salad (P220 for the regular serving, the one pictured above is personal size since it's part of an individual set lunch). I don't know about you but arugula's bitter aftertaste kind of bothers me. Fortunately, it was accompanied by sweet watermelon and cherry confit, plus a tasty piece parmesan crisp. Yummy!
For the main course, we had a choice between Meuniere of Lemon Sole and Twice Cooked Pork Belly. Since I'm trying to be more healthy, I opted for the fish, Meuniere of Lemon Sole (P490, pictured above). Like the salad, I suspect the ala carte order is a bit bigger than this. Breaded fish lay on top of roasted barley risotto and champagne froth. It's such a unique dish. I loved the chewy texture of the risotto and the zing of the champagne more than the fish, hehe. :P
For dessert we had Flourless Chocolate Cake topped with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. The cake is very, very rich and sinful but not overly sweet. If I had the metabolism of my 5-year old daughter I would've poslished it all off... but I don't so I just had half of the cake even though it's sooo divine. The ice cream had a light texture that's a bit reminiscent of sherbet. This is definitely a winner, albeit I didn't see how much it would've cost on a per order basis.Thank you Levi's Philippines for such a lovely lunch.
