Get rid of the Hourglass Syndrome with Intel!

Anyone who has used a computer has surely experienced the Hourglass Syndrome. It's when you spend precious minutes of your time waiting and waiting and waiting for whatever it is to load on your computer. You see that spinning hourglass icon while you're at it. Studies suggest that we waste a total of three (3) days a year waiting for our PC. Imagine that -- we can do so many things in 3 days!

Intel Philippines gave us a crash course on choosing the right PC last June 25, 2010 at Sala Bistro. It all happened over a sumptuous lunch (which I will talk about in another post). We went through the basics: CPU, graphics, memory, hard drive... it doesn't take an expert to know that the higher the specifications, the better the performance. Of course, that also equates to a more expensive computer.

They explained that the new 2010 Intel Core Processors do a lot of things that others don't. For one thing, they have Turbo Boost technology which automatically overclocks the CPU when you need the extra speed. There's also hyperthreading, which lets you multi-task with ease.

Side-by-side comparison of computers by Intel PhilippinesComputers equipped with Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors were compared side-by-side so we could get a more accurate gauge of their performance. The Core i3 and i5 are suited for more casual users while the Core i7 is geared for hardcore gamers who need extreme power and performance.
