Our destination for Mother's Day was Grams Diner in Rockwell. We arrived a bit past 9am, it was bright and relatively relaxed since there weren't too many people yet. My 5-year old daughter ordered Mickey's Minnies (P65, pictured above). Mickey's Minnies are bite-sized pancakes. They're served by the dozen topped with powdered sugar with whipped butter on the side. One piece can easily fit in the palm of my little girl's hand.
My mother-in-law decided to go for Grams Philly Cheese Steak (P255, pictured above). US beef strips, cheese sauce, and caramelized onions make up the filling of this huge sandwich. It can be served with either French Fries or Onion Rings.
Both my hubby and son had the Patriotic Breakfast (P175, pictured above), which is comprised of garlic rice, an egg cooked the way you want it (in this case scrambled), and your choice of longganisa (native sausages), US beef tapa, danggit (fried rabbitfish or spinefoot), or daing na bangus (fried salted milkfish).
Since I often have beef tapa and garlic rice for breakfast when we eat out, I settled for something different which was Eggs Benedict (P225, pictured above). I got two poached eggs served on top of toasted muffins layered with ham and topped with hollandaise sauce. It was absolutely delicious, I loved the country style potatoes served on the side too. I finished every bit of my yummy breakfast.
When we asked for the bill, our server brought out a nice surprise... free dessert for Mother's Day! A giant scoop of ube ice cream sat on top of sweet ripe banana halves. It was topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a cherry. Nice! :DGrams Diner
