Krispy Kreme's new baked creations -- Kruffins and Pull-Aparts!

Krispy Kreme unveiled its latest offerings at its Ayala Ave. branch last March 4, 2010 -- Krispy Kreme Kruffins and Pull-Aparts!

Krispy Kreme Baked Creations Kruffins and Pull-ApartsIf you're not really much of a donuts person like I am, Krispy Kreme's new baked creations are for you. The question is, are you sweet or savory?

Krispy Kreme Blueberry KruffinIf you're a sweet tooth, then Krispy Kreme's Kruffins are perfect! A Kruffin is basically a muffin with a hole in the middle filled with fruit, cream, and nuts depending on what you order. I personally tried the Blueberry Kruffin (pictured above) at the staff's recommendation. It was pretty good, not overly sweet like KK donuts are (sorry, but every time I have a KK donut I am just overwhelmed by the sweetness and I don't want to see another one for at least two months). The good news is, I can just have a Kruffin with hot coffee, which doubles as a better breakfast option since it's more filling than a donut and a lot less sweet. Other variants include Classic, Apple Streusel, and Double Chocolate.

Krispy Kreme Cheese Pull-ApartIf you prefer savory treats like I do, then you simply must try Krispy Kreme's Pull-Aparts! I had the Cheese Pull-Apart (pictured above), which the staff heated up for me. You can opt to have it topped with some ranch dressing or eat it as is. Of course I wanted the works so I had them slather on the dressing. Kruffins are good, but Pull-Aparts are even better! Pull-Aparts have the texture of our very own ensaymada. My only problem is a lot of it sticks to the wax paper cup it's served in and it's very tedious trying to detach it so you can eat the whole thing. Other variants include Bacon and Cheese, Sausage and Cheese, and Cinnamon.

Krispy Kreme's Kruffins and Pull-Aparts are initially available at the Greenhills and Ayala Ave. branches only... coming soon to a Krispy Kreme store near you. They cost about double the price of a single donut.
