The Starbucks Cheer Party is an annual event. Every year, selected Starbucks branches hold a special gathering to usher in their holiday food and beverage line-up and of course, the much-awaited and much-coveted planner.
Invitations are given to regular customers at the baristas' discretion. This year, each invite contained three stubs -- a raffle stub, a 10% discount stub, and a free drink stub. There was a live band, a lot of food and beverage sampling, and a raffle draw after every set the band played. Coffee products and Starbucks merchandise were awarded to lucky winners.

Three special Starbucks coffee blends are available this holiday season: Peppermint Mocha (my hubby's favorite, pictured above left), Toffee Nut Latte, and Dark Cherry Mocha. You can have these hot, cold, or as a frap. Although my personal love is Toffee Nut Latte, I opted for a Dark Cherry Mocha last night. I must say I loved it. It reminded me of Starbucks' dark roasts I miss so much. Piping hot coffee is just perfect with Starbucks' gingerbread cookies (pictured above right).

A slew of savory treats were also introduced that night, including the Christmas Turkey Chicken Sandwich (pictured above). My personal favorite was the ratatouille roll though, which was a big baguette filled with fresh vegetables in tomato sauce and cheese. Delicious!
Of course, what is Christmas without the sweet stuff? Peppermint Brownies, Toffee Nut Loaf, Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, Molten Chocolate Cake... it was dessert heaven! But the real star of the night was the Chocolate Crepe Cake (pictured above) -- seventeen layers of crepes and cream enrobed in a rich and creamy chocolate coating! It was divine... even my hubby who's not fond of chocolates or cakes found it irresistible.
Last but not least, the Starbucks 2010 planner was formally launched. Everyone at the Starbucks Cheer Party was given a sticker card with one bonus sticker, so instead of collecting 18 drink stickers, you now only needed 17. These special cards were also handed out to the first 100-150 customers of all Starbucks branches the following day. There are three designs to choose from: Beans, Roast, and Espresso. Pictured above is the Roast design, which seemed to be most in demand. Lucky me!
Although the cover designs vary, the planner's contents are exactly the same. It struck me as a cross between a coffee table book and a planner because it's just so... beautiful, so much so that I'm almost afraid to use it. Gotta love that coffee bean bookmark!
Bonus: The Starbucks 2010 planner also comes with six coupons that you can use to get discounts and freebies at Starbucks! Woo hoo!Special thanks to friends over at Starbucks for a delightful evening filled with Christmas cheer!
