Of all the women's magazines Summit Media has published, Marie Claire is probably the title I bought the most. MC has intelligence, wit, and class -- I love reading the insightful articles and features. Besides, the editor-in-chief Ms. Myrza Sison is my idol in the magazine world.I just got off the phone with Summit Media's subscription department and here's the bad news: Marie Claire Philippines' April 2009 issue will be its last. An insider said that MC is just not selling as well as Cosmopolitan or Preview.
I wonder what other women's magazine I can get to fill MC's place...
In the meantime, Summit Media is coming out with a new women's title in the same month we bid goodbye to Marie Claire. Say hello to Women's Health Magazine, the female counterpart of Men's Health.Fil-Am actress Sonya Balmores is Women's Health's teaser cover girl. I'm familiar with her because I watched her TV series "Beyond the Break" on Skycable's Star World Channel and won an all-expense paid trip to Boracay for doing so! She played one of the lead characters, a surfer named Kai Kealoha.
Just looking at the cover feature for Flat Sexy Abs makes me want to go out and grab a copy already! KC Concepcion graces the cover of the first issue of Women's Health Philippines! :D
